Pets are very welcome at CortenHuys, with a maximum of two pets per stay. We also ask guests to clean up after their pets so everyone can keep enjoying the unspoiled nature.

All kinds of animals live around CortenHuys, including deer, birds, rabbits and squirrels. Enjoy feeding the animals? Put some shelled peanuts in the jar by the kitchen window for the squirrels, or grab some birdseed for the birds!

Smoking is not allowed inside the house. Outside, smoking is of course allowed, and we ask you to clean up after yourself.

If you'd like to receive visitors, that's of course no problem, provided it's done in moderation and no more than 8 people (including your own party) are present at the same time.

If your visitors would also like to stay the night, this needs to be discussed before the start of your stay, and an additional charge applies.

Electric underfloor heating runs throughout the house and can be set to temperature per room. To make things easy, we've set every room to 20 degrees. If you'd like to set a different temperature, you can do so via the touchscreen panels found throughout the house.

Of course, it's more fun to heat with the fireplace. We'll set out a basket of wood for you, but feel free to grab more from the supply by the driveway.

The bedding for the sofa bed is stored under the seat.

Because CortenHuys isn't a fixed home address, it's unfortunately not possible for us to separate waste at the moment. Please use the large container next to the woodshed for waste. Please take glass with you.

The container may be out by the road when you arrive, meaning it will be emptied during your stay. We put it out before your arrival so we don't have to disturb you. You can simply throw your rubbish in the container — we'll put it back after you leave.

A charging point is fitted to the front of the house — if you have an electric or hybrid car, you can use it with your own charging cable. Hold your charge card in front of the box to switch it on. Charging costs apply and will be billed via the charge card.

To let your holiday end peacefully, you can check out until 11 AM at the latest. Please note that we're booked almost every day, so a later check-out is unfortunately not possible!

The house should be left broom-clean, meaning:

• Furniture back in the same place as on arrival
• Fridge and freezer empty and clean
• Dishes and cutlery clean in the cupboards (the dishwasher should be empty)
• Laundry collected downstairs in the hall
• Rubbish in the container
• Floors swept/vacuumed
• Etc.

If you'd like to help us out a little more, we'd also appreciate it if the bedding were stripped from the used beds, though this isn't required.

Cleaning supplies are in the cupboard upstairs on the landing.

Before leaving, check that all windows and doors are locked. Turn off the lights, and finally lock the front door and put the key back in the lockbox.

The jacuzzi is heated 24 hours a day, so you can use it whenever you like. We make sure the water is clean and test the water values before every stay. The jacuzzi water is generally a green colour, caused by the natural colour of the tap water in the region combined with the natural cleaning agents — this is harmless.

Remember to put the cover back on the jacuzzi after use? Use the handle on the side of the jacuzzi facing the house, lift it up, then close the cover.

In the panoramic sauna you can enjoy a beautiful view. To switch the sauna on, press the button on the black box at the front of the sauna twice — you'll see heating symbols appear above the temperature. The current temperature is shown in the middle, the desired temperature in the top right. Turn the knob to adjust it. Press the button once to switch the sauna off.

To keep the sauna clean, entering with slippers or other footwear is not allowed. For hygiene reasons, sitting on a towel in the sauna is required.

Cold showers are very healthy, especially after using the sauna. That's why our outdoor bucket shower and rain shower is cold water only. Do you dare?

When there's a risk of frost, we shut off the outdoor tap so it can't freeze. You can then open it yourself when you want to use the outdoor shower. Please close the outdoor tap again after use.

You can relax wonderfully in the hammock under the trees. To keep the hammock in good condition, you'll find it stored under the woodshed. Would you mind hanging it back up after use?

You can connect without a password to our WiFi network Cortenhuys guest. We have a very good fibre connection with 1GB upload and download speed!

The TV comes with an extensive channel package so you'll never be bored. It's also connected to the internet, so you can use online apps too.

The TV has a Chromecast built in. Open the app for your favourite streaming service on your mobile device, tap the streaming icon, and select Chromecast CortenHuys. That way you can still watch all your favourite shows and films while on holiday.

The emergency number 112 is for urgent assistance from police, fire brigade and ambulance. This covers life-threatening situations and crimes where every second counts. If you witness a crime such as violence, theft or burglary, also call 112.

For non-urgent situations, call 0900 – 88 44. This number also connects you to your local neighbourhood police officer, the first point of contact for police in your area.
